Is Email Marketing Dead?

Is email marketing dead? – Absolutely not, email marketing is alive and kicking.

It has become a very common discussion among some people. They argue that marketers are using blogs, search engine optimizations, social networking, PPC marketing, multimedia marketing and all the other online mediums have replaced e-mail marketing, which is now dead and gone. But that’s not true internet marketing is earning them serious money who didn’t cut it off. It’s an effective way of making money (even from home) without any cost. Some people don’t pay attention to it but forget that billions of people send many emails across these days, how can this channel be close for marketing?

Elderly people, young people, cab drivers, CEOs, presidents of countries everyone can be reached on email. These days it is actually hard to find someone without an email address and usage. According to a survey email is the most commonly used long distance communication tool used throughout the world.

There is no doubt that fancier internet marketing have taken email marketing’s place. But email marketing is still effective and continues to generate revenue for those who have not forsaken it. Spammers have spoiled the image of email marketing.

Email marketing does not mean sending bulk emails to random people who are not interested, it rather means that you provide marketing information to people who have shown interest and want to receive emails from you. Email marketers generate lists of people who want to buy the product in question, through various resources and send emails to them. This is true email marketing. Clean, convenient, lucrative and everybody wins.

Email marketing in marketing standards is a “push marketing technique” rather than “pull marketing” where you attract people by ads and promotions to come and see what you have for them. In email marketing you take the initiative and tell people what you have that might interest them. Ideally a marketing email should simply include the marketing message, rather than unnecessary fancy ads and designs. The purpose of email marketing is to develop a relationship with the end consumer and to add new customers to your list. It can also include sending regular customers, updates and new information on the products or it can also be sent to acquire new customers for the expansion of your business.

Email marketing, it is said is time consuming at time, since you have send emails in bulks. This can be overcome by using email marketing software which can deliver your marketing message to multiple emails.

One more convenience that email marketing has over other marketing standards is that you as a marketer can control the information. Leaking extra or undesired information is not a problem. You can be as short or as lengthy as you want in email marketing.

Whatever your business may be; be sure to add email marketing to your marketing strategies. There is rather a thin line between spamming and real internet marketing. Those who can distinguish between the two are most successful.
So after this brief article, we can safely conclude that email marketing is by no means dead.
